What is Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)?

Capture, sterilize, release...

...is the humane and effective method for stray feral cats. The method has been proven effective and has been practiced for a long time. Scientific studies show that "catch, sterilize, and release" improves the lives of feral cats and their relationships with humans, and over time, reduces the size of colonies.

is exactly what it sounds like: the animals are humanely captured, taken to the vet, vaccinated, neutered and ear-tipped (the tip of the left ear is removed under anesthesia to indicate neutering) and then released back into their colony.

TNR is scientifically based and interrupts the animals' reproductive cycle. This improves their lives while simultaneously preventing them from reproducing. The fact is that the removal and killing of strays is never-ending and pointless. Since strays can't be adopted, they are killed!

With a successful program like Trap-Neuter-Return, it's hard to believe that strays continue to be killed even though this approach has shown no results.

Trap-spay-release offers a life-saving, effective solution for these beautiful, independent cats.

There are so many reasons to accept and promote TNR!

Catch, sterilize, release!
